On the evening of 15th February 2024, the very best of East Anglia’s tourism sector gathered at Snape Maltings Concert Hall to discover the winners of this year’s East of England Tourism Awards. Ensors were delighted to sponsor the “Large Hotel of the Year” category once again, marking the 5th year of the firm’s involvement in these prestigious awards.
The judging process began in the Summer of 2023 and saw competitive submissions from established chains to up-and-coming hoteliers in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex. Together with a hospitality expert, Ensors Leisure and Tourism Partner Chris Barrett, had the unenviable task of shortlisting the top three, and choosing this year’s winner.
Turing Locke (Cambridge) and Downhall Hotel, Spa & Estate (Bishop Stortford) made it to the final and were highly commended in their achievement, but narrowly missed out on the top spot which was taken by this year’s winner: Wivenhoe House Hotel.
Ensors Partner Chris Barrett said: “It is always a pleasure to be a part of these awards and celebrate the outstanding contribution from local businesses to the tourism sector and economy in East Anglia. The standard of submissions that we saw this year was incredibly high and represented the finest of what the region has to offer. Congratulations to all this year’s finalists and category winners, and I look forward to seeing what you all do over the coming year.”
