Leading East Anglian accountancy firm, Ensors Chartered Accountants, is pleased to announce the promotion of Simon Martin to the Partnership, bringing the total number of Partners at the practice to twenty-one.

The news of his promotion follows another successful year for the firm after their recent expansion into Norfolk with a new central Norwich office, and several other senior leadership appointments.

After joining Ensors in 2014 as Assistant Manager, Simon quickly became an integral part of the team and progressed to become Associate Partner of the Corporate Finance and Forensics department in 2022.

Having built up substantial experience and credibility, Simon is a highly respected authority on all Corporate Finance matters within the sector; taking on a variety of large-scale and complex advisory projects for clients, including business sales and acquisitions, Management Buy Outs and By Ins (MBO/MBI) and Employee Ownership Trusts (EOT).

His talent and excellent reputation have been recognised by his industry peers, subsequently winning the regional Insider Media Emerging Dealmaker of the Year in 2021. Furthermore, Simon is a Practicing Associate of the Academy of Experts and undertakes business valuations when called upon as a Single Joint Expert Witness for court cases. He also sits on the board of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants.

In addition to his work in Corporate Finance, Simon supports the Ensors Business Recovery team, working alongside the firm’s licensed insolvency practitioners on a number of high profile and sensitive cases.

Simon now co-leads the Ensors Corporate Finance and Forensics team with the department’s founder and fellow Partner, David Scrivener, who said:

“I have had the pleasure of working closely with Simon since he joined the firm nearly 10 years ago and we share the same passion for helping local business owners complete what is often the most significant financial transaction they will ever be involved in –buying or selling a business. The role requires technical skill but also the ability to help our clients navigate the emotional rollercoaster that M&A deals create. His recent promotion will propel the team in the direction of our joint vision and will open up a number of new opportunities for the department. I am delighted and proud that Simon has achieved this well-deserved promotion, and I look forward to our continued working relationship for many years to come.”
