The Charity Commission has appointed Ensors to its Interim Manager roster following the firm’s application in early summer.
Ensors will put forward Interim Managers to be appointed by the Charity Commission in cases where the Commission has carried out a Statutory Enquiry or are otherwise concerned by failures in financial management or governance of a charity. Ensors has joined 12 other national and regional accountancy firms on the Charity Commission panel in addition to 20 firms of solicitors.
The role of an Interim Manager is often to work to the exclusion of the charity’s trustees to restore the financial position of the charity or strengthen areas of governance. The appointment demonstrates the wealth of experience and competence Ensors has in the Charity and not-for-profit sector.
Helen Rumsey, partner in charge of Ensors Not-for-profit team said “The appointment by the Charity Commission to its roster of Interim Managers indicates the high level of experience and regard Ensors has in the charity sector. We look forward to working with the Commission to return struggling charities to operational and financial health, especially during these difficult times for the not-for-profit sector”.
