For the second year running, Ensors Chartered Accountants hosted their Pig Racing evening in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care, raising an amazing £1,371 and beating last year’s total of £1,260.
The event took place on 21 September at Ensors Bury St Edmunds offices, where partners and staff welcomed local professionals and business associates, inviting them to place ‘their bids’ on 8 mechanical pigs that raced along a wooden track!
Several local businesses supported the event by sponsoring the races. These included Lacy Scott & Knight, Brown & Co, Ashton KCJ, JM Finn & Co, Lloyds TSB and Greene & Greene solicitors.
The final race of the evening was preceded by a lively auction with the hard working pigs being auctioned off to the highest bidder. The winnings for the final race was then increased to include 50% of the monies raised from auction and was won by Graham Page, Ensors partner, who kindly donated all his winnings back to the charity.
This event was part of the 2011 Accumulator Challenge.
