Partner and head of the firm’s Technology sector James Francis and Corporate Services director Jayson Lawson have officially launched Cambridge Independent’s new ‘innovations & innovators’ initiative.
Over a series of monthly features ‘innovations and innovators’ will uncover some of Cambridgeshire’s ground-breaking entrepreneurs that have helped shape the region as being at the forefront of innovation. Featured in the launch 4-page special are: Audio Analytic who have developed a way for machines to understand sound; Cambridge Design Partnership who have designed a new generation of Pyrex cookware; Auriplex whose aim was to help those who are hard of hearing to differentiate between sounds around them enabling them to hear just a conversation; Luminescence, a communications agency providing a unique service that combines strategy content, public relations and training into one; and Darktrace who are using artificial intelligence for cyber defence.
In addition, James and Jayson chat with Paul Brackley, editor of Cambridge Independent, about the challenges that budding entrepreneurs face and identify some of the support that is on hand to help new businesses get off the ground and realise their full potential.
Of the initiative James said “We were keen to get on board with ‘innovations & innovators’ because as a firm we have always encouraged entrepreneurship. We are well placed locally on St John’s Innovation Park and can offer a complete service to support businesses as they negotiate the start-up minefield, realise their growth ambitions and then, when the time is right, sell and move onto another project or simply put their feet up.”
Other sponsors for ‘innovations and innovators’ are Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge Innovation Park and Hilton Cambridge City Centre.
