The Ipswich Sporting Lunch club met at Wherstead Park on 24 February 2017 with guest of honour Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards, to present a funding award for a stand out Suffolk based squash player.
Sporting legend Edwards who represented Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping presented Lucy Turmel with a SportsAid grant to support her in the year ahead. In 2016, Lucy won both the British Junior Closed and the English Junior Closed Championships and is expected to be England’s top ranked player at the World Junior Team Championships taking place in New Zealand this summer.

The next Ipswich Sporting Lunch Club event will be taking place on 22 September 2017 with special guest, Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams MBE.
