Ensors sponsored the 2016 Young Enterprise Awards which took place on Wednesday 27 April at University Campus Suffolk. The annual event gives budding entrepreneurs the chance to gain real life hands on experience in running a business.
Eclipse of Thomas Mills High School won the Financial Systems and Results Award supported by Ensors. Partner John Matthews said “The students showed great initiative and it is clear to see why they were awarded. It’s so important to get behind the future generation especially when they demonstrate such interest in business. Many start-up’s fail due to the lack of knowledge around financial matters so it was great to see that the students had got to grips with a sustainable system.”
Within the scheme, students had to establish and run a mini-business for 7 months before presenting at the event with a trade stand. They were questioned by the judges and also had to produce a company report and a presentation. This year there were 17 entries from 15 schools across the county.
